The Why

It is easy to take sides. It is hard to stay centred.

It is hard to be the person in the room who thinks of both the humans involved, and the child, and the whole institution of marriage. The ugly side of a marriage is, for the good and the bad, that your family also bears its weight. Without dragging the child in between the emotional chaos. Without performing the role of the abandoned woman for the audience that wants the drama.

I am learning this the hard way. Some of this work is too tender for the internet — I will share only what is mine to share, only what might be useful to another woman in this exact moment.
